Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan Launch Altyn Kyran Joint Military Exercise in Almaty


OUAGADOUGOU — Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have commenced the Altyn Kyran – 2024 joint tactical-special military exercise in Almaty, Kazakhstan, under a bilateral agreement between their defense ministries.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the opening ceremony took place on August 20 and included the playing of national anthems and the raising of flags from both countries. The event emphasized the significance of such joint exercises for strategic planning and experience sharing. During the exercise, which will be held at the Koktal training ground, participants will focus on reconnaissance operations in mountainous areas and the detection and neutralization of illegal armed groups. Azerbaijani servicemen will also share combat experience gained during the 44-day Patriotic War with their Kazakh counterparts.
