Baku: A ceremony to exchange documents signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic was held on July 31 with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov. The heads of state signed the "Decision of the Third Meeting of the Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic" and the "Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic."

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ceremony saw the exchange of various agreements between ministers and officials of both countries, highlighting their commitment to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors. Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov and Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Sydykov exchanged the "Second Additional Agreement" aimed at amending the previously established Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund.

Furthering transport collaborations, Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev and Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Talantbek Soltobayev exchanged documents related to international road transport and freight cooperation. These agreements are set to facilitate smoother transportation and logistics between the two nations.

Additionally, energy cooperation was underscored by the exchange of a "Memorandum of Cooperation" and a "Roadmap on Energy Cooperation" between Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Altynbek Rysbekov. These documents outline strategic plans for the supply of petroleum products and energy initiatives from 2026 to 2028.

On the statistical and cybersecurity fronts, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan Latif Gandilov and his Kyrgyz counterparts exchanged memorandums focusing on statistical collaboration and cybersecurity measures, indicating a shared interest in data and digital security.

The ceremony also marked the establishment of sister-city relations between cities in Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, fostering cultural and municipal ties. These included partnerships between the cities of Shusha and Cholpon-Ata, Gabala and Karakol, and Ganja and Osh.

Moreover, AzerGold CJSC of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC signed a memorandum to enhance cooperation in the mining sector, which is expected to boost economic ties in natural resource management.
