Bishkek: The volume of petroleum products to be supplied between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan will be determined in the near future, Kyrgyz Energy Minister Altinbek Rysbekov said while speaking to journalists, APA's correspondent dispatched to Kyrgyzstan reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Supply of Petroleum Products between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic marks a significant step toward enhancing bilateral relations. This memorandum is expected to open doors for close cooperation between the two nations. A preliminary agreement on cooperation in the field of petroleum products has been reached. The focus is now on outlining the areas and mechanisms to facilitate this cooperation. Additionally, the partnership extends to the electricity sector, encompassing the entire energy sector. Roadmaps have been signed to expand cooperation in this area, reflecting mutual goodwill between the parties.

The Kyrgyz Energy Minister highlighted that discussions on specific volumes are currently in progress. He mentioned that both parties have expressed their mutual intentions, and he anticipates that the specific volumes and supply mechanisms will be finalized shortly. The detailed mechanisms are expected to be worked out in the coming days, following an instruction from both presidents. A concrete roadmap is expected to be ready within approximately one week, ensuring the full determination of the supply mechanism. This cooperation concerns all types of petroleum products, including crude oil, and also envisions collaboration in the broader energy sector.
