Baku: Azerbaijan and Mexico are exploring avenues for enhancing tourism cooperation between the two nations. On February 3, Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency, held a meeting with Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, the Mexican Ambassador to Azerbaijan, to discuss the development of bilateral tourism relations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Mexican ambassador informed Fuad Naghiyev about plans to organize a familiarization tour to Mexico for representatives of the Azerbaijani tourism industry. The initiative aims to strengthen ties and promote mutual tourism opportunities.
During the meeting, the ambassador extended an invitation to Fuad Naghiyev to attend the 'Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2026', a prominent tourism exhibition in Latin America, scheduled to be held in Acapulco from April 27 to 30. This event is considered one of the largest and most prestigious in the region.
Fuad Naghiyev affirmed Azerbaijan's willingness to facilitate familiarization tours in Azerbaijan for leading Mexican bloggers and media representatives, enhancing the visibility and understanding of Azerbaijani tourism prospects.
The discussions also covered potential collaborations within the framework of the UN Tourism and other international organizations, indicating a mutual interest in leveraging global tourism platforms for further cooperation.
