Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Mihai Pop?oi, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, the Press Service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA. The meeting initially took place in a one-on-one format and later expanded to include delegations from both countries.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions focused on regional security issues, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the situation in the Middle East. Both parties expressed serious concern over the increasing military escalation in the Middle East. They also condemned drone attacks by Iran on March 5, 2026, targeting Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries among civilians.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his Moldovan counterpart on the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He also discussed efforts related to reconstruction and restoration in territories that have been liberated, as well as the return of former internally displaced persons. The meeting concluded with a joint press conference where both ministers provided statements on the outcomes of their discussions and responded to questions from journalists.
