Baku:Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, engaged in a telephone conversation with Nigeria's Foreign Minister, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, to discuss the prospects of enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussion covered various issues of mutual concern and the cooperation agenda within multilateral platforms. The ministers emphasized the importance of collaboration within organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation. They highlighted the need for mutual support and coordination within these platforms.
Minister Bayramov expressed that Azerbaijan places high priority on its relations with African countries, including Nigeria. He underscored the importance of advancing cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, and other areas. He also pointed out the opportunities available for Nigerian nationals through Azerbaijan's Intergovernmental Scholarship Program.
The conversation also touched upon other significant regional and global issues.
