Azerbaijan and OIC Formalize Agreement for High-Level Anti-Corruption Meeting Preparations

Baku: A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office to prepare for the Third Ministerial Meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the OIC Member States. This significant event is scheduled to occur in Baku on October 27-28.

According to Azeri-Press News agency, the agreement was signed by Azerbaijani Deputy Prosecutor General Heydar Mammadov and OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay. The meeting between the two officials included a briefing by Deputy Prosecutor General Mammadov on Azerbaijan's institutional reforms aimed at combating corruption. He emphasized the country's ongoing efforts under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership, highlighting advancements in modernizing the legal framework, improving transparency, and enhancing accountability in public administration.

The discussions addressed organizational aspects of the upcoming ministerial meeting and explored ways to strengthen cooperation and expertise-sharing among OIC member states in combating corruption globally. Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay expressed confidence in Azerbaijan's capacity to host the event effectively. He noted that the meeting is expected to attract over 300 participants and will play a crucial role in enhancing anti-corruption collaboration across the Islamic world.
