Baku: As part of his official visit to Romania, Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, met with Dan ?tefan Tarcea, Deputy Mayor of Cluj-Napoca. The meeting focused on establishing and developing cooperation between Khankendi, the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania's second-largest city. The sides also discussed the implementation of joint projects, investment opportunities, and other issues of mutual interest. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Dan ?tefan Tarcea briefed Special Representative Yusubov on ongoing infrastructure and urban development projects in Cluj-Napoca. In turn, Elchin Yusubov highlighted Azerbaijan's restoration efforts in Khankendi, as well as in the Aghdara and Khojaly districts. He noted that the Azerbaijani Army, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, had put an end to more than 30 years of occupation of Azerbaijani territories. Following the liberation of the territories, Azerbaijan launched large-scale restoration efforts and began the gradual return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs). Touching upon the normalization process with Armenia, Yusubov noted that Azerbaijan had initiated the process. According to him, the signing of a peace agreement and the establishment of a sustainable environment for cooperation in the region would be crucial not only for the entire South Caucasus and Europe, but also, in particular, for enhancing trade and economic relations with Romania.
