Azerbaijan and Russia Explore New Avenues for Agricultural Collaboration

Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov engaged in discussions with Ruslan Edelgeriev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Special Representative of the Russian President for Climate and Water Resources, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in agriculture.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the talks reviewed the current state of agricultural cooperation, noting that collaboration in the sector has been developing dynamically alongside broader economic ties. The discussions also covered several critical topics, including the declining water level of the Caspian Sea and the modernization of irrigation systems to enhance water conservation, which aligns with Azerbaijan's new State Program for Agriculture.

Furthermore, the parties explored the organization of joint trials for drought- and disease-resistant crop varieties, as well as reciprocal participation in international exhibitions, fairs, and agricultural festivals held in both countries. Other issues of mutual interest were also on the agenda, highlighting the commitment of both nations to strengthen their agricultural ties.
