Yarag gazmalar: Azerbaijan and Russia have successfully concluded discussions on the division of water resources of the Samur River, culminating in the signing of a final protocol. This agreement was reached during the 28th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Joint Commission, which took place in the village of Yarag Gazmalar, Maharramkend district, Dagestan Republic, Russian Federation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting was conducted under the framework of an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Russian Federation, focusing on the efficient use and protection of the Samur transboundary river's water resources. The meeting was chaired by Zakir Guliyev, the co-chairman from the Azerbaijani side and Chairman of the Board of the Regional Water Reclamation Service under the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ADSEA). Representing Russia, Vadim Nikonorov, Deputy Head of the Federal Water Resources Agency, served as the co-chairman.

The discussions were attended by representatives from the Regional Water Reclamation Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the State Border Service. Key topics included the division of the Samur River's water resources, monitoring activities, and the joint operation of the Samur Hydroelectric Junction. The meeting concluded with the determination of measures to be implemented and the signing of a final protocol.
