Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia Sign Protocol to Enhance Military Cooperation

Riyadh: A delegation from Azerbaijan, led by the Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to engage in a meeting of the Joint Military Committee between the defense ministries of both nations. This visit, held in Riyadh, marked a significant step in the military relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation was received by General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Saudi Arabia. The delegation also held a meeting with Major General Saad bin Mohammed Al-Qasiri, the Director General of the International Cooperation Department of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense.

During these meetings, discussions centered around the current state and future prospects of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia. Both parties explored various issues of mutual interest, highlighting their commitment to strengthening bilateral defense ties.

The visit concluded with the signing of the ‘Protocol of the meeting of the Joint Military Committee between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,’ formalizing their intent to enhance military collaboration.
