Azerbaijan and Silk Road Fund Plan Joint Investment Venture

Baku: Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov recently engaged in talks with Si Xinbo, the Executive Vice President of the Silk Road Fund and a member of its Investment Committee. The meeting centered on the establishment of a new joint investment fund aimed at bolstering economic ties between the two regions.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions highlighted the strategic partnership level that Azerbaijan-China relations have now reached, marked by an expanding economic collaboration. Minister Jabbarov emphasized ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan designed to diversify the economy and improve the investment climate. The talks underscored the importance of deepening cooperation in the non-oil and gas sector, technology transfer, and sustainable development, with innovation being a key focus area.

The meeting also explored various initiatives aimed at strengthening economic partnerships, including the prospects of a joint investment fund between the Azerbaijan Investment Holding and the Silk Road Fund. Discussions also covered potential investment projects in industries such as energy and finance, as well as opportunities to expand financing mechanisms in other priority sectors.
