Baku: Azerbaijan's iodine exports to Russia saw a significant decrease of nearly 30% in both value and volume in January.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the nation exported 4.6 tons of iodine to Russia, amounting to 280.3 thousand USD. This marked a 29.2% reduction in value and a 30.3% drop in volume compared to January of the previous year.
In contrast, Azerbaijan's iodine exports to India in the same month amounted to 18 tons, valued at 990 thousand USD. Meanwhile, domestic iodine production in Azerbaijan during January and February reached 29.1 tons, showing a slight decrease of 0.7% compared to the production figures for the first two months of 2025. As of March 1, the industrial warehouses held 17.7 tons of finished iodine products.
