Madrid: The first consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain took place in Madrid. These discussions marked a significant diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Emil Safarov, who is the Head of the Consular Department, while the Spanish delegation was led by Carolina Alvarez, Director General for Spaniards Abroad and Consular Affairs. The focus of these consultations was on evaluating the current state and future potential of consular cooperation between Azerbaijan and Spain.
The consultations included discussions on signing new bilateral documents and enhancing the digitalization of consular services. Both parties also explored opportunities for multilateral and bilateral cooperation in areas such as the protection of citizen rights, justice, law enforcement, prosecution, migration, education, and visa policy.
