MFA Takes Action to Repatriate Injured Citizens from Sea of Azov Incident

Baku: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has announced measures to ensure the return of Azerbaijani citizens injured in the recent vessel strikes in the Sea of Azov.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry disclosed details about the condition of the citizens affected by the drone attack on cargo vessels on June 5. Employees from Azerbaijan's Embassy in the Russian Federation swiftly traveled to Yeysk to provide consular assistance to the injured and rescued citizens. Reports indicate that the condition of the injured is stable, with several expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.

Efforts by Russian authorities to identify the deceased and carry out necessary measures continue. Concurrently, documentation work for the rescued Azerbaijani citizens is underway, including issuing return certificates and organizing their repatriation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is maintaining strict oversight of the situation and is working closely with relevant authorities. Further updates will be provided concerning the identities of the deceased and the arrangements for transporting their remains back to Azerbaijan.
