Madrid:Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, visited Spain on October 6-7 to participate in the fifth round of political consultations between the two countries.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the consultations took place in Madrid and involved discussions led by Deputy Minister Mammadov and Diego Belío, Spain's Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs. The discussions covered various areas including political, economic, energy, cultural, educational, tourism, transport, and logistics relations. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing trade and investment and cooperation through the "Strategic Economic Dialogue."
The meeting also highlighted the importance of ongoing mutual support in international organizations and explored opportunities for cooperation in humanitarian demining.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation met with Pilar Sánchez-Bella Solís, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department at the Office of the President of the Government of Spain. Deputy Minister Mammadov also held discussions with Javier Maroto, Vice President of the Spanish Senate, where they underscored the significance of interparliamentary relations.
Elnur Mammadov delivered a presentation on "Azerbaijan's Foreign Policy" at the Spanish Diplomatic School and conducted interviews with Spanish media on bilateral relations and future cooperation prospects.
