Baku: Anar Karimov, Azerbaijan's First Deputy Minister of Finance, met with his Tajik counterpart, Majidi Yusuf Khairullo, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and financial sectors. The discussions aimed to build on the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2024 and explored the outcomes of the recent Intergovernmental Commission meeting.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Karimov highlighted the positive trends in mutual trade and expressed optimism about expanding economic cooperation. He pointed out significant potential in agro-industrial cooperation, industrial collaboration, transport, and logistics. Karimov also emphasized the importance of strategic cooperation within international financial institutions and the need for enhanced mutual support and coordination on these platforms.
Majidi Yusuf Khairullo, the Tajik First Deputy Minister of Finance, acknowledged the progress in bilateral relations and expressed Tajikistan's interest in expanding cooperation in the economic and financial sectors. He underscored the importance of strengthening the investment climate and pursuing mutually beneficial projects.
The meeting also included discussions on public finance reforms in Azerbaijan, focusing on budget planning, treasury systems, public debt management, and digital transformation. Both parties stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and strengthening institutional cooperation in these areas.
