Baku: A cooperation agreement aimed at preparing for the Third Ministerial Meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was signed on June 19, between the OIC and the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Baku on October 27-28 this year.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the agreement was signed by Heydar Mammadov, Azerbaijani Deputy Prosecutor General, and Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs. The signing ceremony included a briefing by Deputy Prosecutor General Mammadov, who detailed Azerbaijan's institutional reforms geared towards combating corruption. He emphasized the efforts led by President Ilham Aliyev in modernizing the legal framework, enhancing transparency, and improving accountability within public administration.
The meeting also served as a platform for a detailed review of organizational aspects related to the upcoming ministerial event. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation and expertise-sharing among OIC member states to strengthen the global fight against corruption.
Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay expressed confidence in Azerbaijan's ability to host the event successfully. He highlighted the expectation of over 300 participants attending, which would significantly enhance anti-corruption collaboration across the Islamic world.
