Ankara: The foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Trkiye conducted another round of consular consultations in Ankara, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in consular affairs. The discussions were led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Glsun Erkul, Director General for Consular Affairs and Citizens Abroad of Trkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the consultations began with an exchange of views on the current state of cooperation. Discussions centered on developing the contractual and legal framework, protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, and providing necessary consular assistance. The talks also addressed expanding relations in justice, labor, and social protection.

The Azerbaijani delegation shared insights into the visa and migration regulations implemented during the COP29 session in Baku in 2024.
After the consultations, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the Presidency of Migration Management and met with Fatih Ayna, Director General of Foreigners. They expressed gratitude for Trkiye's support in projects concerning Azerbaijani citizens and discussed prospects for further cooperation.
The meetings included representatives from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Office of the Prosecutor General, as well as officials from Trkiye's Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, and other relevant institutions.
