Azerbaijan and Trkiye Forge Strong Judicial Ties with High-Level Meetings

Ankara: A delegation led by Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and of the Judicial-Legal Council, visited the Republic of Trkiye to participate in the ‘Opening Ceremony of the New Judicial Year 2025-2026,’ the Supreme Court told APA. The visit began with a symbolic gesture as the delegation paid tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev by laying a wreath at his monument in a park in Ankara named after him.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the official ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Vice President of the Republic of Trkiye Cevdet Yilmaz, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court ‚¬€œmer Kerkez, Prosecutor General Muhsin Sentrk, and Minister of Justice Yilmaz Tun§, alongside numerous judges and prosecutors. In his opening remarks, Vice President Yilmaz highlighted the crucial role of the judiciary and prosecution in ensuring justice, extending congratulations to the participants for the commencement of the new judicial year. He also acknowledged the presence of Chief Justice Inam Karimov and Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, affirming the robust and steadily progressing brotherly relations between Trkiye and Azerbaijan.

Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz later engaged with the heads of delegations, where he discussed the enduring achievements between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, particularly in the judicial and legal domains. He stressed that the alliance between the two nations has reached its pinnacle, thanks to the collaborative political will of President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the visit, Chief Justice Inam Karimov also conducted several bilateral meetings focused on exploring additional steps to enhance cooperation between the judicial systems of Azerbaijan and Trkiye.
