Ankara: As part of her official visit to Ankara, Gunay Efendiyeva, Member of the Milli Majlis and Deputy Chair of the Committee on Culture, met with Tamer Karadagli, Director General of State Theaters of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, to discuss cultural cooperation.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted that the 'One nation, two states' philosophy of Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev extends beyond political and economic relations, also having deep roots in culture and the arts. It was further noted that the ties between Azerbaijan and Trkiye represent an inseparable unity based on shared history, language, folklore, and traditions.
Gunay Efendiyeva emphasized that Azerbaijan and Trkiye, as part of the wider Turkic world, share a common spiritual heritage. Both sides underscored theatre as an important tool for strengthening fraternal ties.
The meeting also explored opportunities to expand cooperation between state theatres, including tours, joint productions, and exchanges of theatre professionals.
