Baku: Azerbaijan and Trkiye have taken a significant step towards enhancing energy efficiency in buildings by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku. The event saw the participation of Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, and Trkiye's Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, who also serves as COP31 President.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the MoU focuses on technical cooperation in energy efficiency between Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy and Trkiye's Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. The agreement underscores the ongoing expansion of Azerbaijan-Trkiye cooperation in energy security and energy efficiency, which is vital for the energy transition. The collaboration marks a continued commitment to strengthening ties in areas beyond traditional energy security, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in building construction and urban development.
