Baku: Azerbaijan and Trkiye have committed to providing mutual military assistance in the event of armed aggression against either nation, as reported by APA. This agreement is enshrined in the 'Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Mutual Military Security,' which has been approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Memorandum consists of eight articles and outlines that both nations will support each other under the right of individual and collective self-defense, as recognized by Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The provision of military assistance will be initiated at the request of one party and will adhere to the procedures established under each country's national legislation.

The Memorandum focuses solely on military cooperation and security, including mutual defense assistance, training, supply, and enhancing joint operational capabilities. In addition, Azerbaijan and Trkiye will conduct regular joint military exercises and maneuvers during peacetime.

The agreement also emphasizes the importance of information exchange and military intelligence cooperation. Both parties may share classified information obtained in the military security field and utilize it during joint operations. Any disputes concerning the Memorandum's interpretation or implementation will be resolved through negotiations and consultations.

Amendments to the Memorandum can be made at any time, contingent upon mutual written consent from both parties.
