Azerbaijan and Trkiye to Launch Joint Telecommunications Project

Baku: Azerbaijan and Trkiye’s telecommunications regulatory authorities have announced plans to implement a joint project, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation in the telecommunications sector. During the ‘WTDC-25’ event in Baku, representatives from Azerbaijan’s Information and Communication Technologies Agency (IKTA) and Trkiye’s Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) convened to discuss the initiative, as reported by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT) to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Nail Mardanov, Chairman of IKTA’s Board, shared insights into Azerbaijan’s advancements in digital transformation and emphasized the modernization efforts in the telecommunications sector. He highlighted the alignment of regulatory mechanisms with international standards as a priority for Azerbaijan.

The collaboration between IKTA and BTK is deemed crucial for addressing modern challenges and enhancing security and service quality in both countries’ telecommunications markets. Key topics of discussion included the exchange of experience in radio spectrum management, network resilience, mutual information exchange during emergencies, and the regulation of social media platforms.

Both parties expressed optimism about future cooperation prospects and reached an agreement on executing joint projects aimed at strengthening ties and technological advancements in the telecommunications field.
