Baku: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health, Teymur Musayev, engaged in discussions with Birol Akgn, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, to explore opportunities for enhancing healthcare cooperation between the two nations. Musayev highlighted the enduring friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which he stated are rooted in deep historical ties. He emphasized that the partnership between the two countries, characterized by trust and mutual respect, has reached its highest level.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Musayev pointed out that formal relations between the healthcare institutions of Azerbaijan and Turkey have been in place since the early years of Azerbaijan’s modern independence. He praised the cooperation in healthcare and medical science as exemplary, noting that a large Azerbaijani delegation participated in the 11th Turkish Medical World Congress in Ankara. Musayev remarked that such international platforms are not only crucial for sharing experiences but also for setting joint priorities for the future.

Musayev further stated that the digitalization of the healthcare system is a priority for the Azerbaijani Health Ministry. He underscored the ministry’s objective to train doctors proficient in artificial intelligence and digitalization. The minister expressed optimism about the continued development of cooperation in scientific, medical, and other areas.

Birol Akgn, the Turkish Ambassador, reiterated the strong brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, attributing them to the unity and solidarity fostered by the countries’ leaders. He underscored the importance of the 11th Turkish Medical World Congress in bringing the healthcare systems of both nations closer, as well as its contribution to global medical development.
