Baku: Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan, recently hosted a meeting with Yakup Erikel, President of the Union of Mediators of the Turkic World, along with Orozbek Sydykov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, and other mediators from Kyrgyzstan. The discussions centered around enhancing cooperation in human rights between the involved parties.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva highlighted Azerbaijan's commitment to fostering relations with Turkic states. She detailed that Azerbaijan is actively working on measures to develop these ties further. The establishment of the Association of Ombudsmen and National Human Rights Institutions of Turkic States (T€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬¦‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦‚¬Å¡¬€¦‚¬Å“RKOMB) was noted as a significant step towards uniting and cooperating in human rights protection across the Turkic region.

Aliyeva also discussed the role of mediation in Azerbaijan, explaining the ongoing legal reforms in this area. She emphasized the collaboration between the Ombudsman Office and the Mediation Council, which focuses on reviewing applications related to mediation, improving relevant legislation, and conducting awareness campaigns. The meeting also covered additional topics of mutual interest, underscoring the shared goals and initiatives between Azerbaijan and the Turkic states.
