Azerbaijan and UAE Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Baku: A new episode of the program "Azerbaijan and the World" has been released on the AZERTAC website. Author Tamilla Mammadova spoke with UAE-based political scientist and expert on international relations and regional security, Salem Alketbi, about the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the dynamic development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE is increasingly strategic and institutionalized. The recent second meeting of the Joint Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, held in Baku, aimed at developing long-term cooperation between the two nations, serves as a significant affirmation of this evolving partnership.

Salem Alketbi highlighted the cooperation in the energy sector, with both countries sharing interests in sustainable development and clean energy. Successful implementation of joint solar energy projects, including those involving Masdar and SOCAR Green, exemplifies their collaboration.

The discussion also touched on hydrogen energy as a promising future area of cooperation. Alketbi expressed that such projects are viable, contingent upon the development of necessary infrastructure, attraction of investment, and establishment of effective export mechanisms.
