Geneva: Azerbaijan and UN-Habitat have solidified their collaboration by signing a logistics agreement for the upcoming 13th session of the World Urban Forum, set to take place in Baku in 2026. The agreement, signed by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacl¡udia Rossbach, outlines the organizational framework for the event scheduled from May 17 to 22, 2026.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the logistics agreement marks a significant step in the preparations for the World Urban Forum 13. It follows the Host Country Agreement signed in December 2023, transitioning the planning process into a more practical and operational phase. The event will focus on the theme "Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities."

The agreement is expected to strengthen the partnership between Azerbaijan and UN-Habitat, promoting the development of sustainable, inclusive, and people-focused urban environments. The collaboration aims to advance the goal of creating safe and resilient cities and communities globally.
