Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, recently met with Anacl¡udia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), during her visit to Azerbaijan for the Global Baku Forum. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in sustainable urban planning and urbanization management between Azerbaijan and UN-Habitat.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussion highlighted the potential for partnership in sustainable city development. The dialogue also included preparations for the upcoming World Urban Forum 13 (WUF-13), reflecting a commitment to global urban development initiatives.
The officials acknowledged Azerbaijan's significant efforts in urbanization, particularly in the restoration and reconstruction of liberated territories. This includes rebuilding cities and villages and establishing residential areas guided by modern urban planning principles.
Additionally, the meeting covered the current security situation in the Middle East, with Minister Bayramov sharing insights on regional dynamics. He also discussed the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and Azerbaijan's initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the post-conflict period.
