Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to Sign Document on Eternal Friendship

Tashkent: Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations have reached the level of a strategic alliance, marking a significant milestone in the diplomatic history of Azerbaijan. Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, announced this development during an interview with journalists in Tashkent.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajiyev highlighted that the relationship between the two countries has evolved from a strategic partnership to an alliance, characterized by an eternal friendship. This transformation follows the initial contacts between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which opened a new chapter in their bilateral relations.

Hajiyev emphasized the deep-rooted historical bonds and eternal friendship shared by the two peoples, noting their reflection in the works of Uzbek literary figures like Alisher Navai. He stated that these ties are strengthened by the common history and cultural roots of the two nations. To formalize this enduring relationship, a document on eternal friendship is set to be signed by the presidents during the visit, symbolizing the political manifestation of their historically rooted friendship.
