Azerbaijan Announces One-Time Financial Aid for WWII Veterans and Widows

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order to provide one-time financial assistance to participants of the Second World War (1941-1945), as well as to the widows of those who were killed or subsequently passed away. This initiative also includes individuals who were awarded orders and medals for their labor on the home front.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Order stipulates that World War II participants will receive a one-time payment of 2,750 manats. Widows of those killed or who passed away during the war, along with individuals recognized for their contributions on the home front, will receive a one-time payment of 1,500 manats. This group also includes those who served in special units in rear zones or operational zones of naval forces, as well as recipients of medals and badges for the defense of Leningrad and participants of the Leningrad blockade.

To fund this initiative, 3 million manats will be allocated from the 2026 President's Reserve Fund. Relevant instructions have been issued to the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
