Baku: Azerbaijan’s parliament, the Milli Majlis, has approved the budget for the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) for the year 2026, amounting to 266.4 million manats. This decision was made during a plenary session where the draft law titled ‘On the Budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund for 2026’ was discussed.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the expenditures for the UIF will be financed through multiple sources. The primary revenue for the fund’s 2026 budget is projected to be 238.3 million manats. Additionally, 28.1 million manats will be allocated from the reserve accumulated by the UIF as of January 1, 2026, to cover the expenditures for that year.
After thorough discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and successfully adopted in the first reading, marking a crucial step in securing financial resources for unemployment insurance in Azerbaijan.
