Azerbaijan Army Conducts Oath-Taking Ceremonies for Young Soldiers

Baku: In accordance with the training plan for 2026 approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, military oath-taking ceremonies for young soldiers were held in the Azerbaijan Army on August 16. The ceremonies began with the battle flags being brought to the parade grounds, accompanied by military orchestras.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the events commenced with a minute of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland. This was followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The young soldiers took their military oath, pledging loyalty to the Motherland.

Representatives from the Ministry of Defense and commanders of military units addressed the events, congratulating the young soldiers on this significant occasion. They urged the soldiers to remain loyal to the Motherland, the state, and the Commander-in-Chief. The soldiers were encouraged to serve as exemplary figures, learn the use of weapons and equipment thoroughly, improve their combat training continuously, fulfill the orders of the command staff accurately, and always be prepared to defend Azerbaijani lands.

Event participants expressed pride in the young soldiers taking the military oath and extended their gratitude to the head of state and the Ministry of Defense leadership for providing necessary conditions. The ceremonies concluded with servicemen marching solemnly in front of the grandstand. Military units also held cultural and mass events in a patriotic spirit.
