Azerbaijan Army Conducts Specialized Training for Military Psychologists

Baku: To enhance the knowledge, skills, and professional level of psychologists serving in the Azerbaijan Army, a psychological training program is being held at the Military Management Institute of the National Defense University. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense informed AZERTAC about the initiative aimed at improving the effectiveness of psychologists in various service conditions.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the program commenced with a detailed session on EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy provided by a psychologist from Trkiye. The training agenda includes topics such as psychological traumas, memory retention, bipolar disorders, overcoming childhood fears, and neuropsychological aspects related to servicemen’s psychological conditions during combat and extreme situations. It also covers effective support methods, techniques for resolving deep psychological issues, and practical mechanisms for applying these methods.

Conducted interactively, the training allows participants to enhance their knowledge and skills through case studies based on real-life experiences and practical exercises. These are designed using modern scientific approaches and methods currently applied in practice. The program, aimed at advancing the professional skills of military psychologists, is scheduled to continue until December 9.
