Baku: Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced the blocking of more than 3,300 websites and social media accounts as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor internet resources in real time.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the initiative led to the identification and blocking of 3,315 websites, social media accounts, and pages last year.

The blocked content included 954 accounts promoting religious radicalism and a criminal lifestyle. Additionally, 769 were involved in the online sale of narcotic drugs, 272 were disseminating pornographic materials, 189 were spreading viruses harmful to computer systems, and 1,131 were organizing illegal sports betting activities.

This extensive monitoring and blocking effort underscores Azerbaijan's commitment to combating online activities that pose a threat to national security and public safety.
