Baku: Military tension surrounding Iran and the threats posed by the recent war have prompted Azerbaijan to enhance its air defense capabilities, as highlighted in an article published in Forbes magazine, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan has significantly bolstered its airspace defense in recent years by adopting 40 Pakistani-made JF-17C Block III multi-role fighters. These advanced aircraft are equipped with modern radars and long-range air-to-air missiles, which are expected to enhance the combat capabilities of Azerbaijan's air forces.

Forbes further notes that Azerbaijan is developing a multi-layered defense network incorporating various air defense systems, radars, and other means produced by Israel, Trkiye, and China.

The article emphasizes that the Iran-Israel war has underscored the threat posed by unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise, and ballistic missiles. In response, Baku has decided to strengthen its airspace defense, taking lessons from these experiences.
