Fuzuli: Azerbaijan marked the Fuzuli City Day, commemorating the liberation of the area from Armenian control four years ago. According to Trend News Agency, the liberation of Fuzuli was a pivotal moment in the conflict, characterized by fierce fighting and significant losses on both sides. The Armenian forces, overwhelmed by the Azerbaijani military's offensive, suffered substantial setbacks in manpower and equipment. The Azerbaijani Army's operations led to the elimination of key Armenian military figures, including Colonel Ashot Gazaryan, the commander of the engineer-sapper regiment. An Azerbaijani Army officer, reflecting on the operations, shared details of the strategic counter-offensive launched on September 27 by order of Azerbaijan's Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The operation began in the village of Alkhanli, breaking thr ough the front lines and advancing towards the Fuzuli district. This breakthrough was crucial, allowing the Azerbaijani forces to liberate several villages and move towards strategically important heights, including Mount Mangalanata. The final assault on Fuzuli commenced on the night of October 16, culminating in the liberation of the city and surrounding villages such as Gochakhmedli, Chiman, and Juvarly by October 17. Military commentator Ramil Mammadli noted that the successful capture of Fuzuli and Mangalanata heights was instrumental in cutting off Armenian supply routes, thereby facilitating further Azerbaijani advances in the region.
