Baku: Azerbaijan’s Central Bank forecasts that stability will be ensured in the foreign exchange market this year as well. A current account surplus of USD 5.5 billion is projected for the year, as reported by APA-Economics citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a positive balance of USD 5.5 billion was recorded in the foreign trade balance in 2024, which serves as the main component of the current account balance of payments. Under these circumstances, stability was maintained in the foreign exchange market in 2024. The demand for currency was fully met in all auctions conducted by the Central Bank. The projected surplus in the current account provides reason to anticipate that stability will continue to be ensured in the foreign exchange market in 2025.
