Azerbaijan Central Bank Governor Highlights Economic Challenges at Istanbul Forum

Istanbul:Taleh Kazimov, the Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, addressed the Istanbul Economic Forum to discuss the challenges faced by monetary policymakers amid the rising global economic uncertainty and geopolitical risks.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Kazimov spoke during a panel titled 'Monetary Policy amid Uncertainty,' where he detailed how global economic developments and geopolitical risks could impact Azerbaijan's economy and its monetary policies.

Kazimov emphasized the significance of maintaining price and macroeconomic stability, anchoring inflation expectations, and being responsive to changing conditions. He also highlighted the necessity of clear communication with the public and financial markets.

He pointed out that resilience and institutional credibility are crucial in a volatile global environment and advocated for enhanced dialogue among central banks, noting that the Istanbul forum serves as a vital platform for international exchange.

The two-day forum, organized by the Central Bank of Trkiye, gathered central bank governors and officials from various countries, along with representatives from international financial institutions. Discussions centered on the global economic outlook, monetary policy, financial stability, the economic impact of artificial intelligence, and challenges in international trade.
