Baku: Azerbaijan is working with UNESCO to address the impact of mines on cultural heritage, as announced by Elman Abdullayev, the Permanent Delegate of Azerbaijan to UNESCO. He shared this information during a panel discussion titled ‘The Role of Culture in the System of International Relations’ at the ‘Culture and Law: Contemporary Challenges Forum,’ as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Abdullayev highlighted the challenges faced during the occupation period in Karabakh and East Zangezur. He noted that appeals had been made concerning the destruction of cultural heritage, the falsification of their names and history, and alterations in their purposes. However, UNESCO admitted to being unable to send a mission to the country due to obstructions from the Armenian side.
