Baku:The order 'On pardoning a number of convicted persons' has been fully executed, as confirmed by the Ministry of Justice.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 23, 2026, was implemented in correctional institutions of various regimes under the Penitentiary Service and by the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice. The process involved representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and media representatives.

All were released from the unserved portions of their sentences.
The implementation of the pardon order has been completed, with the Order executed at the institutions of the Penitentiary Service. President Ilham Aliyev signed the Order, which pardoned several convicted individuals, allowing them to be freed from their remaining sentences. The procedures for the release were carried out at the correctional facilities, concluding by the end of the day. Under Azerbaijani law, the president holds the constitutional authority to pardon those convicted by the country's courts.
