BAKU - Azerbaijan's investigation into the criminal case against several arrested Armenian separatists has been completed, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev announced to journalists in Baku.
According to Trend News Agency, Aliyev detailed the conclusion of the extensive investigations into the allegations, stating, "The stage of familiarization with the materials of the criminal case has already begun. However, this stage takes quite a long time because there are quite a lot of victims, and at the same time, the rights of the accused are ensured in accordance with international conventions and the requirements of national legislation." He emphasized the complexity of the case, noting that each accused has multiple lawyers and the charges involve serious allegations including separatism and the destruction of historical and cultural monuments.
The Prosecutor General added that the legal process will continue to ensure thorough examination and defense rights before proceeding to trial. "Once these procedures are finished, the matter will be sent to court," Aliyev said, indicating the next steps in the legal proceedings against the accused.
