Armenian Constitutional Reform Essential for Peace with Azerbaijan, States Architectural Leader

BAKU — A significant revision of Armenia's Constitution is imperative to facilitate a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, according to Elbay Gasimzade, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan. This statement emerged during his appearance on the Baku Network's latest installment of the Dialogue with Tofig Abbasov, an analytical video series reported by Trend News Agency.

According to Trend News Agency, Gasimzade highlighted ongoing peace negotiations between the two nations, though he noted the process was not progressing as swiftly as desired due to current circumstances. He pointed out that the Armenian Constitution still harbors territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which he argued must be amended to pave the way for peace. “We continue to engage in constructive work. Even during those 30 years, we focused on constructive efforts in the areas where we had the opportunity to do so," Gasimzade explained.

Furthermore, he emphasized the extensive reconstruction efforts underway across Azerbaijan, where cities, villages, roads, and engineering infrastructures are being simultaneously developed on an unprecedented scale. This reconstruction is part of Azerbaijan's broader effort to restore regions following prolonged conflict.
