Baku: Azerbaijan has completed its part of the work on finalizing the peace agreement, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told journalists.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayramov announced that Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a joint statement during the Washington Summit, and the peace agreement text has been initialed and made available to the public.

Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan's principled stance on the matter, aligning with President Ilham Aliyev's official position. The primary expectation from Azerbaijan is for Armenia to remove its territorial claims from its Constitution. Only then, Bayramov stated, can the peace agreement be formally signed.

Furthermore, Bayramov highlighted that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, following the parliamentary elections, has indicated efforts towards adopting a new Constitution in Armenia. The critical concern for Azerbaijan remains the territorial claims outlined in Armenia's Declaration of Independence. Bayramov expressed hope that these issues will be swiftly resolved, allowing the peace process to move forward expeditiously.
