Azerbaijan Condemns EU Parliament Resolution, Summons Ambassador

BAKU: The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Peter Michalko, the European Union’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, to express strong condemnation of a recent resolution adopted by the European Parliament. This protest, delivered on October 25, follows opinions deemed biased by Azerbaijan, expressed by the European Commissioner during discussions at the parliament.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs communicated its displeasure with ongoing actions by EU institutions, which are perceived as undermining Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ministry accused these institutions of interfering in Azerbaijan’s internal matters and encouraging revanchism in Armenia, thereby disrupting regional peace efforts.

The Azerbaijani government emphasized its commitment to basing its relations with the EU on international law principles, mutual respect, equality, and shared benefits. The protest note called on the EU to adhere to these principles and warne
d against actions that threaten Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and regional stability.
