Azerbaijan Court Sentences Man to Six Years for Spreading False Terror Information

Baku: The final court hearing has been held in the criminal case against Vitaliy Zabolotski, who was detained by the State Security Service and accused of knowingly spreading false information about terrorism in Azerbaijan. The verdict was announced at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Hafiz Kamranov.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Vitaliy Zabolotski was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. He will serve his sentence in a general-regime correctional facility. Zabolotski was charged under Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which pertains to the offense of knowingly spreading false information about terrorism.
