Baku: The court proceedings in the criminal case initiated by the State Security Service (SSS) against Abdulsamad Atayev and Elnur Rafiyev, who were accused of financing terrorism in Syria, have concluded. A verdict was announced at a hearing held at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Vugar Guliyev.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Abdulsamad Atayev and Elnur Rafiyev were sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. It was determined that they will serve their sentences in a high-security correctional facility.

Abdulsamad Atayev and Elnur Rafiyev were detained as a result of an operation carried out by the SSS, and final charges were brought against them under Article 214-1 (financing of terrorism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
