Baku: Azerbaijan saw the creation of 48,900 new jobs in the first half of 2025.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, citing the State Statistical Committee, 92.1 percent of these jobs were established in the non-state sector.
Of the new positions, a significant majority, 74.7 percent, were based in Baku city. The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic accounted for 1.1 percent, while the remaining 24.2 percent were distributed across various regions. These included 8.3 percent in Absheron-Khizi, 2.6 percent in Guba-Khachmaz, 2.5 percent in Shaki-Zagatala, 2.3 percent in Ganja-Dashkasan, 2.1 percent in Karabakh, 1.4 percent in Lankaran-Astara, 1.1 percent in Central Aran, 1.1 percent in Eastern Zangezur, 1.0 percent in Shirvan-Salyan, 0.8 percent in Gazakh-Tovuz, and 0.5 percent each in Mountainous Shirvan and Mil-Mughan economic regions.
Of these newly created jobs, 10.8 percent were in newly established enterprises and organizations. Existing enterprises and organizations accounted for 87.6 percent of the new jobs, while 0.5 percent were in enterprises that resumed operations, and 1.1 percent were created under other measures.
