Baku: Experts from the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry met with representatives from NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum during the second coordination meeting of the Partner Capacity Coherence Initiative, part of the 2025 Individual Partnership Cooperation Programme (IPCP) between Azerbaijan and NATO. This meeting, held in Baku, aimed at enhancing cooperation and aligning military practices with NATO standards.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Major General Vugar Aliverdiyev emphasized the importance of familiarizing Azerbaijani servicemen with NATO standards. The Mobile Training Team spearheads regular training sessions focusing on operational planning, command-and-control procedures, and tactical execution of NATO-format exercises within the Azerbaijan-NATO IPCP framework.

Both parties expressed optimism regarding the planned exercise, which is expected to further strengthen Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation. The exercise aims to elevate the Azerbaijan Army’s operational readiness to NATO standards, bolster collective security, and contribute to regional peace and stability.

The meeting also highlighted the positive assessment of Azerbaijani servicemen’s roles in peacekeeping missions and other partnership activities with NATO. Additionally, the participants exchanged views on mutual interests and signed a protocol of mutual understanding concerning the upcoming exercise.
