Baku: The volume of Azerbaijan's investments in Georgia's economy amounted to $45.3 million in the first half of this year. Azerbaijan invested $21 million in the neighboring country in the first quarter and $24.3 million in the second quarter.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a preliminary report by the National Statistics Office of Georgia indicates that on an annual basis, the volume of investments from Azerbaijan decreased by 22.5%. Despite the decline, Azerbaijan maintained its position among the top ten countries investing in Georgia, ranking seventh in the second quarter.
During the reporting period, Georgia's economy attracted a total of $468.8 million in investments, which represents a 23.2% decrease compared to the same period last year. The leading investor countries in Georgia were China with $219.5 million, the United Kingdom with $123.5 million, and the UAE with $47.7 million.
